"Hey, Samuel, I know you can hear me. If you don't want to pass out from the fever, let go of me now," said Shelmaine.
His grip on her waist loosened slightly.
She took the opportunity to stand up, carefully avoiding any physical contact with him. She rummaged through her first-aid kit, pulling out fever-reducing medication and patches.
Samuel didn't hold back. He lay sprawled out on the couch with one leg hanging over the edge. He looked utterly drained. His thin clothing doing little to keep him warm. Shelmaine placed the fever patch on him, handed him the medication, and covered him with a blanket.
Under these circumstances, he should be fine. If his fever didn't break soon, she'd have to take him to the hospital.
