CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY TWO – ONE FAILED INTERVIEW
Nia felt her heart sinking. It was clear that Mr. Johnson wasn't invested in this interview at all. She wondered if the position had already been filled, and this was just a formality.
"Mr. Johnson," she said, unable to keep the frustration from her voice, "I appreciate your time, but I'm starting to feel that perhaps this isn't the right fit."
Mr. Johnson looked up, seeming almost surprised to find her still there. "Oh? Well, if you feel that way..."
"I do," Nia said, standing up. "Thank you for the opportunity, but I think we both know this isn't going anywhere."
For the first time, Mr. Johnson seemed to really look at her. "Ms. Moreno, I apologize if I've given you that impression. We are genuinely looking to fill this position."
Nia paused, her hand on the door handle. "Then maybe you should consider giving your candidates your full attention during interviews. Good day, Mr. Johnson."
She walked out of the office, her heels clicking sharply on the polished floor. As she waite
