Chapter 110: Talking to Gramps
Levi walked out of the house. It was cold, and dew coated the streets, but he didn’t mind. His hands were tucked inside his sweater as he stared down the end of the street, mentally calculating where he would stroll too next. He looked up toward the bedroom windows and smiled at the thought of Eleanor still sleeping.
“Hi,” an early morning runner waved at him as he stepped onto the road, beginning his stroll to the end of the street.
“Eleanor will probably be worried I went out this early,” Levi thought. He fished out his phone from his pocket and scrolled through, staring at the name “Gramps Rocco.”
“Hello, Papi,” he said to the receiver a minute after clicking the call button.
“Levi.” Rocco's voice boomed from the other end. “I was expecting your call earlier,” his voice sounded low. “How are you, my boy?”
“I can't say I'm doing okay,” Levi answered, kicking an empty can away from the road.
