Drake finally handed the phone back to me, his expression a mix of satisfaction and mischief. “Alright, all yours. Just remember, Justin, it’s all about timing.”
I took a deep breath, trying to smooth things over. “Hey, Justin. Sorry about that. Drake’s been a bit overprotective today. What were you thinking about meeting up?”
Justin’s tone softened, though there was still a touch of frustration. “I was hoping we could grab a drink or something. But if you’re busy, I get it. We can catch up another time.”
I glanced at Drake, who was pretending to be very interested in the street performer juggling flaming torches from earlier. “Actually, we’ve just finished here, and I think we’re done with our spontaneous adventures for today. I’d love to catch up. How about we meet at that new bar down the street?”
Justin’s voice perked up with relief. “That sounds great. I’ll see you there in about twenty minutes?”
“Perfect,” I said, smiling. “See you soon.”
I ended the call and looke
