Esmeralda sat in the dimly lit room, her eyes fixed on Ophelia, who lay unconscious on the bed. The sight of her friend’s still form brought a pang of concern that seemed to deepen with each passing minute. Ophelia had been in this state since the wedding, which had taken place two weeks ago.
