Chapter 99
All of their lives were altered by the York family's evil deeds. They hadn't done anything wrong, yet they were dragged into hell by these devils, and now, there was no escape. The police were still investigating, and no one knew how many more victims there were.
Helen stood by the bed, silently crying as she looked at Diana. The pain was etched deeply into her face.
"I wouldn't have known if it hadn't been for this trip. I regret leaving her alone with the Braun family," she said, her voice heavy with sorrow.
I stepped closer and gently patted her back, trying to offer her some comfort.
Suddenly, a scarred hand moved ever so slightly. The twisted fingers, once broken and healed poorly, reached out and caught Helen's falling tears.
A faint, barely audible voice whispered from the woman lying on the bed. Her eyelids fluttered, revealing eyes like dulled pearls, beautiful but clouded by exhaustion. The oxygen mask over her face fogged with each labored breath.
