CHAPTER 68: THE BLOOD KEY
Drakon, having heard enough, snarled, his body tensing as he prepared to strike down the witch. His eyes blazed with fury, his teeth bared in a fierce growl, and his cracking bones filled the air. He launched himself in the air and tried to attack the witch by flying quickly above the crowd, but before he could get to her, she raised her hand and spoke just a single word.
"Stop" was as quiet as the whispers of the leaves.
The air seemed to vibrate with magic as Drakon felt a jolt of energy hit him, and suddenly, he was frozen mid-air, unable to move or speak. He was suspended, helpless, and enraged as the witch approached him.
Her eyes locked onto his, and she babbled, her words tumbling out in a rush. "No, Drakon, listen to me! I'm not a traitor! It's the wolf whose mind you checked, the one who led the pack here. They're the one who's been manipulating you all along." Her voice was desperate, her words spilling out like a plea.
