Chapter 18
When she got married to Nelson, always kept her distance from Rita. As time went on, her attitude toward Rita became even worse.
Rita couldn't tell what was wrong with her, but she knew that Emma didn't like her.
But now, Rita was clear that she was going to divorce Nelson, and Emma seemed to be on her side, which made Rita confused.
It left Rita feeling confused and unsure of what to do next.
That evening, Rita went home and found Abbott sitting on the sofa, looking tired in his home clothes.
"You're back?" she asked in surprise.
"I just got back. Have you eaten?" he asked.
Rita shook her head.
She had only eaten something at the party with Emma earlier in the day.
After Abbott ordered food from the kitchen, he asked, "What happened between you and Emma?"
The picture of them together at the gathering had caused a stir, so he was naturally curious.
In his opinion, Rita wanted nothing to do with the Wallis family anymore, but the current situation suggested otherwise.
The kitchen quickly brought the food to the dining table. As they ate, Rita responded, "Don't worry about what happened recently. Focus on yourself."
"I'm worried about you," Abbott replied.
Grateful for his kindness, Rita said, "I'm in trouble."
Abbott was so smart that he immediately understood. "Old Master Dark doesn't want you to be separated from Nelson?"
Rita nodded.
Abbott sighed.
He also knew how much Old Master Dark meant to Rita.
It was difficult for her to refuse his request.
He frowned slightly for a moment and said, "If it's because of the Old Master, you don't have to worry too much."
Rita looked up and asked, "Why?"
"When you were missing before, the old master almost didn't make it. All these years, he had been waiting for you to come back. Now that you're back, his wish has been fulfilled. I'm afraid..." Abbott trailed off.
Rita dropped her fork in shock, and Abbott immediately stopped.
She knew her disappearance would have hurt her grandfather, but she didn't realize it was that bad.
"I didn't know until I came back with you that there were indeed people here who missed you," Abbott said, seeing the guilt in her eyes.
Rita's heart skipped a beat. Her thoughts were consumed with her grandfather.
......
When Nelson came back to the old house in the evening, the butler was stunned when he saw him.
The Master Nelson has been a little diligent recently.
He stepped forward to welcome him.
When Nelson saw the empty dining room, he could not help but frown. He asked the butler, "Have they finished eating?"
The butler shook his head. "No, Old Master is eating in his own room in the main building, and Madam is eating in the small building."
Nelson asked, "Where is she?"
Of course, the butler could tell who this "she" was.
The butler replied, "Lady Rita has left."
Nelson, "..."
She's gone?
Didn't she go to the party with his mother during the day?
He thought that she was going to return to the Wallis family, but she left tonight and didn't sleep in the old house?
