EMILIA’S POV
There was silence among the pack.
Too quiet.
Cameron's departure created a huge hole in everything, as if the Rogue Pack's air had been drawn out and replaced with a void that was empty and hollow. That morning there was little conversation. It seemed as though nature itself had sensed something was amiss since even the breeze felt different—colder and rougher.
I sat at the dining table and gazed at the dish of food that had not yet been eaten. At the prospect of eating, my stomach turned over. My heart wrenched to see that Cameron's chair was empty. He was sitting there last morning, making fun of me and making me laugh. He wasn't there today. Like a criminal, drag him away.
My eyes filled with tears once more, which I pushed away with fury. I can't cry any longer. I must take action. However, what? How would you combat a king?
