"Talia." He didn't let her leave. He followed her, not caring whether or not he was clothed. She grabbed a blanket and threw it across her body, shielding her lush curves from his view.
"Talia," he called again, grabbing her arm and turning her around so hard she collapsed into his chest. She was crying again.
"Ariel told me. I should have told you. I should have told you when you held him the first time. I should have told you that Ariel prophesied he was going to die. That he would never see his first moon. That he would never walk, never grow to be your son. I should have told you that it would be done by someone I would come to trust. Foolishly, I pushed away everyone that I should have trusted. I didn't know that I would be the one spearheading the prophecy's fulfillment." She pushed away from him again until her back touched the opposite wall.
"It's all my fault," she whispered softly, but he caught the sound of her voice. His heart broke.
