Chapter 314: Count the seconds

Two weeks. I counted. Two weeks and one day. I was still strapped to the same chair, although sometimes I would be led away from it, back into the strange chambers I had been given—without any door whatsoever. No matter how much I tried to slink inside the depths of the room, they would always come inside and pull me out. Then, I couldn’t see. My eyes had been covered. I thought they were bound shut, but apparently, it was just in my dreams, with them lifting cloths and stuffing them over my eyes, forcing my skin to heal against itself, closing my eyelids.
Darius himself was merely lurking, sometimes watching, sometimes not. But I could always feel his eyes on me. Those bronze eyes of his, which I had long grown used to. He liked to see me in pain, to see me suffer.
Now, once again, I was in the chair. The cold from the back of it bit into my skin, sending shivers down my spine. I knew the struggles were futile, but I couldn’t help it. My hands twisted and turned in the metal
