“I like looking at it,” she said, staring at the fog as it moved, swirling around but staying only in one direction.
“Then you’re weird,” Agatha said beside her. “These things the witch would mind?”
So they looked back to the forest. “She said not to overstay the welcome,” Celine said. “She didn’t say we shouldn’t use her facilities. And besides, romanticizing a few pieces of wood—after all, in my opinion, most of those trees could use a bit of a trim.”
Celine checked her fingers and walked back into the camp. “Any word yet from home?” she asked as she took a seat.
“Not yet,” Agatha responded, taking a seat opposite her.
“That’s unfortunate,” Celine said out loud. “They’re right there. I want to attack, and I want to kill them all.”
“Yes, but the clear instructions were to wait for a command,” Agatha said.
“Read it out to me again,” Celine said, feeling exhausted even though she hadn’t done anything.
