582: FIXING THINGS
ARIEL'S POV
With the wheels of my car rolled going further, my nerves tightened. Home. The place that was supposed to be a sanctuary, a safe haven. Instead, it was now becoming a war zone, filled with tension and resentment.
I sighed and unbuckled my seat belt. Stepping out of the car, I could see that Luke's vehicle was already parked. Taking a deep breath, I gathered the last shreds of my courage and headed inside, the heavy door clicking shut behind me.
The house was silent, which only made me feel more uneasy. It was as if the air itself was holding its breath, waiting to see what would happen next.
“Luke?” I called out tentatively. No response. My heart sank, a wave of disappointment washing over me. I had hoped we could talk things through and find a way to make things right. But it seemed he was still upset, unwilling to even acknowledge my presence.
