“When you wake up tomorrow when the alcohol has worn off and the haze has cleared, you’ll still be in the same place.” My voice trembled, but my eyes never left Luke's face. “And I’ll still be here, waiting for you to come home.”
He didn’t respond, his gaze distant and unreadable.
I turned to leave, but then a voice called out from behind me.

I turned around, and it was a lady; she was sort of chubby.
She moved closer to me. "Your husband told you to leave, and you're just going to do that?"
“That’s none of your business,” I snapped, my nerves frayed. “I’m trying to respect my husband’s wishes.”
“Respect?” The woman snorted. “More like disrespect.”
I narrowed my eyes. “What are you talking about?”
