That night was particularly quiet, so much so that I thought Andrew had left in the middle of the night.
That belief, however, was proven wrong when I saw him come out of Valerie's room early the next day. I was curious about what they had done last night, or if they even did anything at all.
As if proving my suspicions, Andrew looked visibly upset in the morning. I had no idea what happened between Valerie and him.
"Jeffrey, you must be pretty proud, huh?" This was the first thing Andrew said to me when he spoke.
I glanced at him and asked, "What do you mean?"
"It seems you've played the victim card well. Fewer people are criticizing you now. Even Valerie blames me for that incident, but it's okay. I know she's just looking at the bigger picture. In the future, please stay out of company matters."
I wondered if he was warning me, and what right he had to give me orders. After all, even Valerie hadn't said anything to reprimand me.
