CHAPTER 120: THE FINAL SHOWDOWN
"I'm sorry, but I can't stay here," Caleb muttered, swaying unsteadily as he prepared to jump. "I have to find Juliet."
The road ahead of Caleb was treacherous, the uneven terrain making it difficult to keep his balance. He stumbled and fell several times, each time getting back up with renewed determination. Blood trickled down his arms and stained his shirt, but he ignored it. Nothing mattered but finding Juliet.
As he crested the hill, the sound of laughter caught his attention. He peered through the brush, his heart sinking at the sight before him. There, in a small clearing, he saw Bruno Gonzalez, his knife gleaming in the moonlight.
With a burst of adrenaline, Caleb launched himself from the ambulance, his feet hitting the pavement with a thud. The pain from the impact shot through his body, but he kept moving, his legs carrying him away from the ambulance and towards the hill in the distance.
