Some people believed Aaron was only after a wealthy female CEO to pull off another marriage fraud, like the one he pulled with the Butterfield family. Others were convinced his talent was legitimate and his past with the Butterfield family might have hidden issues. Either way, once the news came out, it sparked a frenzy. The conference room held only Sierra and three board members—Spencer Coughlin, a senior director, Lydia Donnelly, the CFO, and Jake Gardner, a director with a technical background. Spencer, nearly 60, was highly respected in the industry. He narrowed his eyes and spoke cautiously. "Ms. Thorne, I'm not questioning Aaron's abilities. But I'm concerned that hiring him now could lead to neg
