Chapter 32 Up to Something
Twenty minutes later, a van pulled up outside a detached motorcycle-themed bistro in Aurora Heights. The doors of the van opened, and eight men dressed in black piled out and fell into line. Each of them carried a somewhat battered toolbox.
Outside the bistro were a few dozen expensive dirt bikes.
The foreman of the van squadron fished out his phone. "Hey, Ms. Keller. Which bike was it that you wanted us to take apart?"
A crisp and clear voice sounded. "All of them."
The foreman's eyes widened. He figured Adeline must be joking. "Ms. Keller, the bikes… These are really expensive bikes…"
He had received a call ten minutes ago while he was in his workshop, requesting that he and his team take apart a batch of bikes. The caller had wanted those bikes "practically deconstructed", if that was even possible.
At first, the foreman thought the bikes were not worth that much. But now that he had taken a good look at them, he reckoned just one of them could cost him several years' worth of
