Chapter 104 Unravelling the Truth
The following morning, I walked back into Maya’s hospital room, my thoughts still swirling with the events of the past few days. Seeing her awake and alert, albeit still pale and weak, brought a flood of relief. But the lingering unease gnawed at the edges of my mind, especially after hearing about the suspicious circumstances surrounding her accident.
Maya was sitting up slightly in bed, her eyes half-closed as she rested. When she heard me approach, she opened them and gave me a tired smile. It was a far cry from her usual bright expression, but at least she was awake, and that was all that mattered right now.
"Hey," I greeted her softly, pulling a chair up to her bedside. "How are you feeling?"
