CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY – UNRULY CHILDREN
The next day, Tony arrived at the pub early, carrying a large bag. When Charlotte questioned him, he merely winked and said, "You'll see."
Throughout the day, Tony busied himself setting up what he called his "fool-proof kid catcher." He rigged up a series of nearly invisible strings across the back entrance of the pub, connected to a bucket precariously balanced above the door.
"When the little troublemakers try to sneak in to leave their next 'surprise,'" Tony explained, his eyes gleaming with mischief, "they'll trip the wire and get a shower they won't soon forget!"
Charlotte raised an eyebrow. "What's in the bucket?"
Tony's grin widened. "Nothing harmful, I promise. Just a little... colorful surprise."
As closing time approached, the staff found themselves on edge, waiting to see if Tony's plan would work. They went about their usual closing routine, all the while keeping an ear out for any disturbance from the back.
