CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY SIX – WHAT’S THEIR OPINION
Nancy's face was a mix of emotions. "I think... I think it went okay? They seemed to like the flavors, and they were impressed by the Ferris wheel concept. But I'm not sure about the trifle. One judge called it 'an interesting choice'."
Rebecca put an arm around her sister's shoulders. "Hey, 'interesting' can be good! It means you stood out from the crowd."
Nancy nodded, still looking uncertain. "I guess we'll just have to wait and see."
As they made their way back to their stall, Rebecca noticed Mildred Thornberry watching them with narrowed eyes. She gave the woman a pointed look, and Mildred quickly turned away.
"What was that about?" Nancy asked, noticing the exchange.
Rebecca shrugged innocently. "Oh, nothing. Just making sure everyone remembers the importance of good sportsmanship."
Nancy looked at her suspiciously but didn't press the issue.
