CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY FOUR – MAKE IT UP
Then, Rebecca took a deep breath and squared her shoulders. "Okay, we can do this. We just need to improvise."
She looked around, spotting a booth selling handmade crafts. "Wait here," she told Nancy, rushing over to the booth.
A few minutes of negotiation later, Rebecca returned with an armful of small wooden boards. "We can use these as serving plates," she explained. "And I borrowed some plastic knives from the food truck next door."
Nancy's face lit up with relief. "Becca, you're a genius!"
Together, they scrambled to finish their setup. They used colorful ribbons from a nearby booth to decorate their table, creating a festive atmosphere despite their less-than-ideal location.
Just as they placed the last cinnamon roll on the makeshift Ferris wheel display, the festival officially began. The sounds of music and laughter filled the air as visitors started to stream in.
Nancy and Rebecca looked at each other, exhausted but proud of what they had accomplished.
