Chapter 104: Radio Silence

The bar was loud, the exact opposite of what I needed at the moment. I wanted peace and quiet, a place where I would hear even a pin dropping. But, at 11 pm, I was out here, waiting on a bar stool. I had to admit that there were some exciting things going on, too.
I loved the way the music alternated from rap and fast to slow and sensual. People danced with rhythm, shaking away their worries. I wished I could go out and dance like that with someone and shake off some of the worries I carried around with me. Maybe Julie would be more than happy to dance with me, but I didn’t feel like it.
I sighed and checked my phone again for the time. It was a little past 11, and Selina wasn’t here yet. We’d made an appointment to meet at this bar covertly because she said she had something for me. I’d been waiting for the past hour, and there was nothing from her yet. If she had canceled, she would have had the decency to at least call me.
