Chapter 26 Thinking
I fell into deep thought.
I had checked the market rate for home tutors before. It was roughly around 2,000 dollars a month. I only needed to tutor for three hours a day, though weekends might be a bit busier. After some hesitation, I cautiously asked, "Would a thousand dollars be okay?"
"One thousand dollars?"
"Is it too high? We can negotiate."
Lucas' gaze on me flickered slightly. "Isn't that a bit low?"
I was stunned.
"More than that wouldn't be appropriate. As you mentioned earlier, I've been out of touch with society for a long time. Getting paid this much for part-time work is already very good."
"Part-time?" Lucas glanced at me.
I nodded. "I want to find another job to improve myself. Actually, your words served as a reminder for me."
Lucas paused, looking at me quietly.
I continued, "You were right. When a person has been disconnected from society for too long, their knowledge, perspective, and habits will inevitably change. I want to take a fresh look at my life."
