The next day, Ella overheard Lydia on the phone in the kitchen. "I'm telling you, they're totally stuck in a rut," Lydia was saying. "I think Ella's bored, but she won't admit it. Maybe I should set Lucas up with some dance lessons or something to spice things up."
Ella cleared her throat loudly as she entered the room, causing Lydia to jump and quickly end the call.
"Oh, hey cuz!" Lydia said brightly. "I was just... uh... making plans with a friend."
Ella sighed. "Lydia, I appreciate that you care about us, but please don't discuss our relationship with others. It's private."
Lydia looked hurt. "I'm just trying to help. Don't you want to keep the spark alive?"
Before Ella could respond, Lydia had bounced out of the room, leaving Ella feeling frustrated and slightly embarrassed.
