George was aggravated as he looked at his sister waiting for an answer from her. She looked appalled but she said nothing.

Maybe it was possessiveness or guilt, but George didn't want anyone else to know about it. He hoped that one day, he and Lauretta could start anew, leaving all the rumors behind as if they never existed. But the hard glint he had seen in Lauretta's eyes minutes ago makes that notion futile. But he was still hopeful
