CHAPTER 37 THE FLASHBACK

I stopped walking, already feeling weak and tired, and began to breathe heavily.
Dipping my hand in my pants pocket, I took out my phone to make a call, but it wasn't connecting.
I realised there was no service.
I hissed in annoyance.
Of course, since there was no sign of civilization and we were still deep in the woods, there wouldn't be service.
Not having the strength to continue, I faced Dominic. "Let's take a break, Dominic.
I am exhausted and don't have the strength to move forward anymore.
I want to rest a little.
"I looked around for a comfortable place to sit," I said. I found a comfortable-looking tree with wide branches and walked towards it, sighing with relief.
It would at least protect me from the harsh, bright sun.
I sat under the tree, resting my back on the trunk, and closed my eyes briefly, which flew open immediately at Dominic's words.
"Weak," he scoffed.
