IRENE'S POV
“...have you thought any more about what I asked you before? About moving in with me?”
When Leon’s proposal resonated in my ears, I found myself unable to respond immediately. Instead, I turned to look out the window, avoiding his gaze. The idea of moving in with him was something I hadn’t fully considered—at least, not like this, not under these circumstances. Despite that he mentioned it before, it still felt too sudden.
Leon must have sensed my hesitation because he quickly continued, as he tried to convince me.
“Irene, your current residence is swarming with reporters. Staying there would be like walking into a trap. They’ll hound you day and night, waiting for any opportunity to twist your words or actions.”
I knew he was right. The image of the reporters outside my home, cameras at the ready, made my stomach churn. But the thought of moving in with Leon brought its own set of anxieties.
