The next afternoon, me and Xander were ready to leave the pack grounds and headed to Daisy’s place.
The whole ride we both were silent, thinking about what Daisy had in her mind and what her magic would do to us.
We were afraid. I was not sure about him but I was.
The sun hung low when we reached Daisy’s house. Her house was situated on the outskirts of the town, it was nothing too fancy. A modest white house with a neatly trimmed lawn. It was a quaint, picturesque residence, an oasis of normalcy in a world filled with supernatural secrets.
As we approached the front door, I could feel Xander’s uneasiness in his taut shoulders and when his breaths heaved more heavily. I wanted to comfort him, but I was too scared to do that.
But Daisy was something else. She must have heard our car as she flung open the door so fast that I was afraid that it would come undone.
In the next moment, she was in my arms, climbing up like a monkey and giggling.
A low growl left Xander’s mouth but Daisy cared
