We left the skeptical elders in the pack hall and now I was seeing another version of Xander in our room.
Xander paced the room, his brows furrowed in deep contemplation. His wolf remained restless, ruffling mine in return.
We had two options: either we tell everyone that we lied about the mating mark or take help from Daisy.
“Xander, don’t fret. We will find a way out.” I reassured him, but to no avail.
“No, I can’t calm down. My pack members doubted me. This can’t happen.” he was furious.
“But they are not wrong. We aren’t mated so whatever they said remains valid.” I answered him and stood in front of him.
His eyes were filled with emotions, mostly rage but I could feel he was a little scared too.
I approached him, placing a hand on his arm to halt his restless pacing. "Xander, we need to think this through carefully. I know you are angry but try to understand.”
“What?” he growled.
“I know you are a little scared. You care about their perception. You care about what your pack thinks
