Chapter 7
Emmanuel and I finished our coffee sometime after 8:00 pm.
He got up and said, "It's getting late. I should probably head out."
"Alright," I replied.
Over the next month, we started to get closer. I used to think I'd never fall for another guy again, but recently, I could feel something stirring inside me—something I thought was long gone.
I saw Silas again on my birthday. That night, Emmanuel booked a table at a steakhouse with a view of the entire city and asked me to join him for dinner.
Things between us were definitely getting more serious, and I had a feeling he might finally confess his feelings. So, I put extra effort into getting ready.
Sure enough, after dinner, Emmanuel told me to close my eyes. When I opened them, he was standing before me, holding a bouquet and a gorgeous box.
"Rhea, I was going to wait a little longer to say this, but I can't keep it in anymore. Will you give me a chance to be your boyfriend?" he asked.
