Chapter 60
Julie stared silently at Amaya without saying a word.
Amaya let out a heavy sigh. "Christian's proven to be a jerk."
"What happened? Did he cheat on you?"
"After the car accident, I told him I covered Blaine's compensation through a payday loan, and I guess he's worried about being implicated."
"And you're not even breaking up with him yet?"
"I was just waiting for the right chance."
Julie paused and asked, "So, is the chance here?"
Amaya nodded. "I think it's almost here."
Just as she spoke, Amaya's phone rang. She glanced at the screen and noticed an unread notification. After tapping on it, a text popped up, and it was a breakup message from Christian.
Though frowning slightly, a subtle smile played on Amaya's lips as she softly said, "It's here."
She handed the phone to Julie and remarked with a smile, "Look at this. What a jerk to claim he doesn't have feelings for me anymore."
