Chapter 18
The night had fallen when Julie exited the sanatorium, and it was snowing.
She had left the house in a hurry, so the clothes she had on were relatively thin. Her slender figure looked exceptionally desolate and frail. She seemed completely out of it. Her complexion was pale, and her overall state was far from well.
Initially, she thought that given their 20-year-long marriage, Mandy would at least ensure George was well taken care of even if he didn't receive the best treatment.
In the end, she went and saw that George was left alone on a shabby hospital bed, the air thick with a foul, putrid stench.
She furiously looked for the person in charge and found out Mandy did not want to pay a single cent. Mandy was heartless and claimed she had no money to pay.
When she went back to visit Mandy the last time, the items she bought for Jake were enough to cover a year's worth of George's accommodation fees.
