Chapter 4 Personal Servant
Anders' eyes flickered with a complex emotion, but he quickly sneered and said, "Isn't this your karma? You killed Mary's child, and now God is punishing you by making you lose yours. It's fair, isn't it?"
Sally looked at Anders in disbelief.
He was the man she loved most in her life, yet he had hurt her the deepest.
Sally suddenly let out a bitter laugh.
"In your eyes, I'm just a horrible person, right?" Sally muttered.
An inexplicable irritation rose within Anders. He looked away and released Sally.
Anders helped Mary up from the floor and then said to the woman sitting on the ground, "Mary is so kind, yet you hurt her again and again. Sally, I really misjudged you before, hah..."
Anders' words stabbed Sally deeply in the heart.
Sally cried uncontrollably. Seeing the complex emotion in Anders' eyes, Mary quickly coughed a few times and said, "Anders, I'm not feeling well, cough, cough..."
Anders immediately became anxious, "Mary, what's wrong?"
"The doctor said I'm weak and malnourished..." Mary coughed deliberately a few more times.
Anders glared at Sally, who was sitting on the ground.
"You, from now on, will be Mary's personal servant. You must be on call at all times!" Anders said disdainfully.
"What?" Sally was shocked, "You want me to be Mary's servant?"
God! Is Anders joking?
While Sally stood there stunned, Mary quickly said, "Anders, don't do this... Sister's health is not good, how can she be my servant?"
Although Mary said this on the surface, her heart was filled with joy.
This wretched woman, Sally, used to shine like a radiant red rose. Back in school, so many boys surrounded her. Why?
The more Mary thought about it, the angrier she became.
Now, seeing Sally groveling like a beggar at their feet gave Mary immense satisfaction!
Hearing Mary's words, Anders coldly replied, "Her health is bad? Hah, she looks fine to me! She even has the strength to hit you, showing how strong she is—Sally, you know what to do now, right?"
Sally gritted her teeth as she looked at him.
Anders hated it when Sally looked at him with such stubbornness.
That defiance infuriated him.
"If you don't comply, I'll throw your son out of this hospital! You don't want your son to meet God soon, do you?" Anders' words were utterly heartless.
Sally bit her lip hard. After a few seconds, she finally bowed her head, "...Okay."
Mary's lips curled slightly.
This was exactly what she wanted.
Soon, Mary said she wanted porridge from a famous restaurant nearby.
Naturally, this errand fell on Sally.
Despite her discomfort, Sally trembled as she left the hospital.
When she returned with the porridge, Mary frowned at the food on the table.
"What's wrong, Mary? Are you feeling unwell?" Anders immediately asked with concern.
"Ah... Anders, I don't know why, but I suddenly lost my appetite..." Mary said weakly.
Anders immediately looked at Sally with a hostile expression.
"What kind of job are you doing?" Anders was clearly angry, "Now Mary has no appetite. What are you going to do about it?"
Sally felt like crying but had no tears.
Mary was the one who wanted the porridge, and now she's the one saying she has no appetite!
Sally couldn't help but retort, "I already bought it. Whether you eat it or not is up to you."
Mary's face quickly changed upon hearing this!
How dare this woman be so arrogant even now!
Mary immediately said pitifully, "It's my fault... Sister, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have made you run for nothing, boo hoo hoo..."
Anders, angered by Sally's response, was about to speak when his phone rang.
He glared at Sally before stepping into the hallway to take the call.
Now, only Sally and Mary were in the room.
Sally looked at Mary with a hostile expression.
Mary dropped her pretense and provocatively glanced at Sally, saying in a sinister tone, "Sister, my hands are not convenient. Can you feed me?"
Sally glared at her, "Mary, how can you be so malicious?"
Mary laughed softly, then said, "If you don't do as I say, watch how I deal with you!"
Seeing Sally still not moving, Mary picked up the porridge and poured a bit on her arm, "Ah! It hurts! Sister, how could you pour porridge on me?"
Anders, busy with an urgent matter in the hallway, didn't notice what was happening behind him.
Mary felt a wave of frustration!
Just as she was about to escalate the situation, Sally quickly stepped forward and grabbed the bowl from her hand.
Mary didn't have time to react.
Sally sneered, "Since you're planning to frame me, I'll help you make the act more convincing."
With that, Sally poured the hot porridge over Mary's head!
"Ahhh—" Mary's screams filled the room!
Anders, hearing the commotion, hung up the phone and rushed into the room. Seeing Sally pouring hot porridge on Mary, his eyes turned red with rage!
"Bitch! What are you doing!" Anders pushed Sally away and looked at Mary with concern.
"Anders..." Mary sobbed, "Sister wants to hurt me, my head hurts..."
Anders lifted Mary and said to the collapsed Sally, "You malicious woman! I'll take Mary for a check-up. If anything happens to her, you won't live!"
Watching Anders and Mary leave, Sally let out a cold laugh.
She must have been blind to have fallen for such a heartless man!
Mary received timely medical attention, so her face wasn't scarred, but she still cried in Anders' arms for a long time.
Anders felt sorry for Mary initially, but after hearing her cry all day, he suddenly felt a surge of irritation.
Realizing this, Anders was startled by his own thoughts.
Why was he feeling annoyed with Mary?
...
Meanwhile, Mary's mother, Anna, rushed to the hospital upon hearing about her daughter's situation.
Anna found out Mary's ward and was about to enter when she heard Sally's mother, Melody, talking to Mary.
Strange, what's Melody doing here?
Anna wanted to walk in but stopped at the door, curious.
Melody's voice wasn't low, and Anna heard her say to Mary, "Sweetheart, why haven't you dealt with that bitch Sally yet?"
What?
Anna was stunned to hear Melody call Mary "sweetheart."
