I lowered my head, avoiding his gaze.
Tristan suddenly asked, "Did Uriah and Camila stop by today?"
I was taken aback. I didn't expect him to ask about them.
I nodded.
He continued to ask, "Did they say anything unpleasant?"
I shook my head.
He pressed further. "Really? They didn't say anything at all?"
I shook my head once again.
He studied me carefully before finally responding, "Okay. You should go upstairs and get some rest."
I lifted my gaze to look at him, struggling to find the right words I had been rehearsing all afternoon.
Seeing that I hadn't moved, Tristan asked, "What's wrong? Are you feeling sick? Or is there something you wanted to say?"
I quickly shook my head. "No. I'm fine. It's nothing."
With that, I hurried toward the stairs.
But just as I was about to make my way upstairs, Tristan called after me, "Don't bother with what Uriah and Camila said. Just ignore them."
I nodded instinctively.
