Chapter 67 Clarkbrook Village
Emery wasn't in a rush to go back to her old house when she arrived at Clarkbrook Village. She took a walk around the village first.
Clarkbrook Village wasn't quite the same as before. She remembered that the surrounding docks used to be swarming with hardworking fishermen who came home late from the sea. That had been a few years ago when she was here with Sarah to bury Stanley.
Gazing into the distance now, Emery saw many self-built homestays and resorts around the village. The scenery was beautiful, and there were still many tourists around although it was winter.
"No wonder," said Emery.
She looked up at the sign board at the entrance to the village and sighed. "The village is nearly unrecognizable."
She carried her suitcase and walked into the village.
Ever since her father had brought the whole family out of Clarkbrook Village to find a living, Emery hadn't come back much to visit. She wondered how dilapidated the old house had become.
