Chapter 13 I’m At The Police Station
“How is it inappropriate?” the thug who got hit just now said. He then looked at me and continued with a sneer, “So it’s you who hit me just now?”
I nodded. “I accidentally hit you, so I apologize!”
“Are you looking for death?!” The thug raised the rod in his hand and walked toward me. Emily and I tried to avoid him. We then picked up the beer bottles at the side and threw them at the thugs.
The other thugs were planning to just watch at first. However, seeing that Emily and I were fighting back, they immediately held up the wooden rods in their hands and came our way.
Emily and I knew how to fight a little, so we did not get attacked by the thugs. When the police came, a few of them were already injured. Lucky for them, it was not serious. They were then brought to the police station.
The police recorded our testimonies at the police station. Although Emily and I were the victims, we still needed someone to bail us out, as we also participated in the fight just now.
Emily was an orphan, so she did not have any other friends besides me in Riverville. Thus, all she could do was wait for me to get someone to bail us out.
I would usually be at the company or the Blake residence. I was also not good at socializing with others, so I also did not have many friends. After thinking for a while, I just tried to call Edward.
The call was answered just after a few beeps. There was no sound coming from the other side, so I felt a little awkward and just said, “Doctor Finn, I’m sorry for interrupting you at this time, but can you help me? Something happened, so I'm at the police station now. Can you come over?”
There was no reply from the other side, so I paused for a moment and said helplessly, “Doctor Finn, please.”
After some time, a cold voice came from the other side, “Julia Moore!”
This voice was… Curtis!
Why did he answer Edward’s phone?
I was suddenly taken aback and panicked. After some stuttering, I said, “Curtis, you…”
“Address!” Curtis said coldly from the other side before I could even finish speaking.
I could tell from his voice that he was not in a good mood.
“Clayton District Police Station!” Curtis immediately hung up once I told him my location.
Emily looked at me, feeling a little speechless, and said, “Why didn’t you just call Curtis directly? You just had to cause some trouble!”
I facepalmed, feeling helpless. “When I left the villa, Curtis was drunk. I thought that he had gone to sleep, so that’s why I called Edward. Who knew…”
Who knew Curtis would answer the phone?
Half an hour later, Curtis squeezed through the people and got into the police station. He had a cold, stern stance and a slender, good-looking figure. Even if he was just standing there without saying anything, he looked as if he was in a painting.
Moreover, he was on the headlines of the city’s financial news reports every day. Thus, his appearance caused everyone in the police station to come forward and greet him.
Seeing this scene, Emily patted my shoulder. “Actually, I can understand why you love him so much. After all, Curtis is really gifted! Which woman would not want him? The title of Mrs. Blake is something that countless girls want. Moreover, you can even sleep with him every day.”
I rolled my eyes at her. She was persuading me to divorce Curtis just now, but at this moment…
Sure enough, women were also quick to change their minds.
After Curtis talked to the people in the police station and signed the documents, Emily and I were released.
At the police station’s entrance.
The policeman who detained us looked at us and said, “If you two come across a similar situation the next time, report it to the police. Don’t fight!”
Emily and I looked at each other. We then looked at the policeman, smiled, and thanked him.
After that, Emily whispered, “If I didn’t fight back, then I’ll end up as a corpse for the police to collect!”
At first, I wanted to say something, but I sensed a chill. I looked towards Curtis and saw him in a black suit, standing beside his black jeep coldly.
