Chapter 409
The smell of chemicals mixed with a damp, decaying odor made one want to throw up. Louis, who was at the back, quickly turned on a flashlight, illuminating the basement.
Already on edge, Fiona suddenly screamed, instinctively pressing close to Andrew. A previously unknown fear swept over her, making her tremble uncontrollably.
Following her gaze, they saw a small body in the closest proximity. It appeared to be a girl in her early teens, but her body was covered in signs of horrific alterations. Her appearance was ghastly, with various lines and patterns etched into her skin as if covered in some mysterious code.
The girl's eyes were hollow, devoid of expression as if she had lost all hope and pain.
The basement walls were covered with many sheets of white paper. One sheet was densely covered with complex formulas, calculations, and some strange symbols and patterns. Another sheet had blood-written characters, now blurred, but the remnants revealed a name—The Facade.
