Chapter 14

Natalie's face turned ashen, and she didn't respond. Bethany studied her closely. "Do you regret marrying Taylor?" Natalie looked at her with a blank expression and replied, "Ms. Powel, did you invite me here to gather evidence of your husband's infidelity or to pry into my personal life?" "Of course, I'm here to gather evidence. I was just making conversation. Don't be so uptight." "Then let's focus on gathering evidence. Which room is he in?" "Room 306," Bethany replied. Together, they walked to Room 306. The hallway was busy with people passing by frequently, hence they didn't look out of place. Natalie asked, "How do you plan to get the evidence?" "My husband knows me. If he sees me, he'll be on guard, and I won't get anything. But he doesn't know you. How about you disguise yourself as a server and go in to get the evidence for me?" Natalie glanced at Bethany, who was smiling. "You wouldn't want us to lose the case in court due to lack of evidence, would you, Ms. Lopez?" "Of course not," Natalie replied. She was fully convinced that Bethany had ulterior motives. However, the contract had already been signed. She had no choice but to gather evidence favorable to her client. Fortunately, Natalie knew the manager of Nine Bar. Hence, she could borrow a server's uniform from him. After setting her phone to video recording mode and placing it in her shirt pocket with the camera facing out, Natalie joined a group of servers heading into Room 306. Before entering, Bethany had shown Natalie a photo of her husband, Luis Ashe. While searching for Luis, Natalie immediately spotted a strikingly handsome man. Taylor was sitting in the center of the room, casually swirling a wine glass. His lips were pressed tightly together. Natalie quickly lowered her head, hoping the dim lighting and the server uniform she wore would prevent Taylor from noticing her. The servers who had entered with her began pouring drinks for the guests, each moving to their assigned positions. Unfortunately, Natalie was positioned directly in front of Taylor. Summoning her courage, Natalie approached and bent down to pour his drink. Before the glass was full, someone grabbed her wrist. Instinctively, Natalie looked up and met Taylor's deep, cold eyes. She caught a glimpse of the mocking smile at the corner of his mouth. Her lips trembled as she tried to think of something to say, but nothing seemed appropriate. Just then, someone commented, "Who would have thought there'd be such a beauty at Nine Bar? She's even caught Mr. Jones' eye!" "Miss, you're the first woman Mr. Jones has ever shown interest in. If you serve him well, future clients will come to you out of respect for him." Natalie's expression darkened, but she had no desire to argue with these people. She met Taylor's gaze and subtly tried to free her wrist. He scoffed and yanked her forward with sudden force. Caught off guard, Natalie was about to fall into Taylor's arms when his other hand swiftly grabbed her waist. He spun her around and firmly pressed her onto the couch beside him. She breathed a sigh of relief. Suddenly, Taylor snatched the phone from Natalie's pocket, leaving her horrified. Taylor glanced at the screen, then tossed the phone onto the table with a loud clatter. "You're recording?" Everyone turned to look at the phone. Their expressions tensed when they noticed the video was still recording. Someone saw Taylor and Natalie in a suggestive posture and said with a hint of amusement, "She's brave enough to record Mr. Jones? Who is she?"
