Chapter 11
Even though I was drowsy, I forced myself to get up the next day. Jas came home at three o'clock in the morning, and he didn't listen me from telling him not to go home because it was dangerous.
Last night, I was overjoyed since I had another day and more memories with him. We didn't leave my place, but because of the joy he brought, we appeared to have traveled a long distance.
After tomorrow, my schedule is night classes, and I can't wait to catch up and be with him on campus.
I'm curious if the three of us, Baki and I, will be together or if he would purposefully avoid Baki in order for us to bond.
When I arrived at school, everything seemed to be in chaos. There's a gathering spot where I can't tell what it is or who it belongs to. I wouldn't have minded, but I couldn't help but be curious when I passed through the area. With so many students in the area, I couldn't see what they were gathering, but I'm sure it was a person.
Before going straight to our room, I stopped through the locker area to get some necessary books, and when I entered the room, almost everyone's gaze was drawn to me.
I look for Mafiah, Audrey, and Halisty right away, and when our gazes crossed, I could see how upset they were at me, unlike my other classmates, who were almost screaming for no apparent reason. Because of their giggle it appears that they are enthralled by me.
I don't want to ruin my day, but it appears like if there's another gimmick, I won't be able to avoid it.And I was correct; my desk had chocolate bars, a rose petal, and a letter.
When I picked up the letter, I couldn't help but notice the writer's lovely handwriting.
'Every step you make, someone will fall with you. Smile, don't forget it.' I mentally read the notes.
I couldn't tell who it was from because I couldn't see whose name it was, so I glanced at the back of the notes and found out. It's a message from Ivan.
I really can't quite figure out what that man's purpose is for me. Why is he messing with my life? With so many students here, why me? So freaking life! Why did he chosen despite the fact that my personality is unremarkable?
After I put my bag in my seat, I took all the things from that man. I went to the trash bin of our room and then threw it there. I heard various reactions from my classmates who seemed unable to believe what they saw I do. I don't care if it's lose because I didn't spend any money there and I didn't ask that man to give it to me.I don't mind if it's a loss because I didn't spend any money there and didn't ask the guy to hand it over to me.
No one ventured to question what I did, which I am grateful for because if someone had, I would not have hesitated to speak up and let them know he was not in a position to lead me. I'm a quiet person, yet I never lose a battle.
Our chemistry subject teacher arrived after a few minutes, and we studied until snack time. My classmates went out first during the break, except for the one next to me, who spent the entire time reading science fiction novels. In fact, I would have wanted to interact with her and get along with her because, in addition to being quiet, she is also intelligent in class. She also appears to be trustworthy and nice.
Because she was undoubtedly aware that I was staring at her, she looked up at me.
She asked, "Do you need anything?"Even her voice is endearing.
Her skin is flawless. Her hair is long and thick, and she is white. She has a clip in her hair, yet she is unable to show her face to others. Her lips and cheeks were rosy normal because she didn't use any makeup on her face. Her eyes were little and precisely shaped, and her nose was small and flawlessly shaped as well.
I got sucked up. I shook my head shyly and muttered, "Oum, sorry. Nothing. I don't need anything."
MI turned away from her and walked out of the room.
I could see that all of the students were heading to the soccer field instead of the cafeteria, so there were only about five of us in line when I bought a snack.
I went to the soccer field out of curiosity, and there were a few more students sprinting towards it. It might have something to do with the earlier chaos, if I'm not mistaken.
When I walked in, I was met by a raucous mob of students. I haven"t seen anyone or players in the field yet so I still can"t say what and who everyone is exiting about. I just looked for a place to sit and even if I wanted to ask other students, I couldn't do it so I just waited. Soon after, a group of people dressed in their uniforms approached. I can say that they are players in a game, which could be soccer. The yells and shouts of the students engulfed the soccer field even more. Almost everyone stood up and called out their biased players' names.
I was supposed to stand up when someone asked beside me. "Can I sit next to you?"
I raised my eyes and gazed on her sweet face.
I'm not sure why she appears shy and nervous at the same time.
I replied, "Sure, sit down," and then returned my vision to the members.
Because the guys in front of us had sat down, I was able to examine each of the members individually. The soccer players are eleven, and they are accompanied by their coach and secretary.
"Why are you here?" I asked, without looking at my nerdy classmate.
I'm sure it wasn't by chance that we ended up here.
She doesn't seem like the type of person who would desire to socialize with others, based on what I've seen.
I am wondering. Is she following me here?
"You are correct; I was following you here."
What the! How did she do that?
"Don't be surprised; I'm not a mind reader; all I know is that you're wondering if I'm following you."
I took a deep breath and turned to face her. "All right, now tell me why you came here; do you need something?" I questioned.
With a shake of her head, she expressed her dissatisfaction with the situation. "I don't need anything, and I believe you do," she said, smiling before shifting her glance away from me and toward the players who are now paying attention to the instructor.
"They are the most well-known students on campus, and students look up to them because of their soccer skills," she explained. "They have won two consecutive championships in the last two years, and they are the first soccer players to be formed at CU, and as a result of them, our school has become more well-known, not only in the province but also nationally."
Now that I know who they're excited about, I'm not sure why they act the way they do. What makes it even better if they're soccer players? They don't impress me in any way other than the fact that they are athletic.
"All of the soccer players who are well-known for being wealthy, intelligent, and attractive. When it comes to the game, five of the members are known as lions. They're so amazing that I'm wondering if they use any of the special skills or armor I've seen in anime before."
I could tell she admired the team as she spoke those things, and I could still think she'll be the one to answer my questions, and hopefully the fear and worry she has for me will vanish because I'm nice if I'm treated well.
"As you can see, there is a member who is wearing a different uniform from the other team," she said, pointing to the man stretching and listening to their instructor. He was dressed in a long sleeved garment with gloves on his hands.
"Carew," I read from the back of his jersey, which had his number one written on it.
"His name is Von Carew, and he is the team's goalkeeper. He is in grade eleven HUMMS-A, and he is ranked number one in his section. His family is wealthy since his mother and father run a law business."
Goalkeeper Carew took a quick glance in our direction, and I recognized his face.I remembered seeing him and also another member of the team looking at our seat as well. Carew was one of Ivan's three friends whom I had previously seen.
"The one who stands in front of us is Ivan Gil Clifford; I know you know who he is, but I still want to introduce him to you."
"I don't know who he is, Aly, and he only exists to create issues in my life."
"I observed as well, but it's strange that he treats you like that."
"How come you said that?"
"When you told the class that you didn't have a relationship, no one believed you. Even me, I didn't believe it at first but later I realized. Since we were freshmen we had no issue with Ivan about women. He hasn't had a relationship yet and everyone thinks you're the first. "
"Lies," I said quietly.
"Ivan is in grade eleven ABM-A and is also the most outstanding student in his section; he is also the wealthiest student at CU due to his parents' and siblings' various businesses, which are not only in our country but also in other countries; and his parents are also the owners of CU, so no one did not knows him and almost all the students admire him and his family."
Because of what I heard, I swallowed and averted my gaze, and I also noticed Ivan's smile in our direction.
I had no idea he was the owner's son! I didn't even notice they used a last name.
"The one next to him is Delton Rafael," she said, referring to the long-haired man next to Ivan. "He's the best at defending the opponent, and for me, he's the coolest and kindest. He rarely speaks, and you wouldn't think he's particularly good in the kitchen, but he's exceptional in TVE COOKERY, and he also enjoys reading." I nodded and waited for her to introduce her next player.
"The one on his left side is Teren Hunt; he's been a well-known playboy since we were freshmen, and while he's not particularly active academically, he's still an honor student; he's just not as excellent as his rank one friends on the other section," she explained.
"Not only is he brilliant at toying with ladies, but he's also good at soccer and dancing, which he learned from his parents, who were artists and famous dancers at the time."
As soon as the instructor was through, the players took their places.I glanced to the player who was presently holding the ball, but just as practice was about to begin, the student in front of us rose up and shouted, interrupting my recognition of the player's face, which was so familiar to me.
I stood up and Aly followed. I struggled to see the player holding the ball until Aly and I stepped into our seats. "Aly, w-who's holding the ball?" I asked incredulously.
"Ah, she's the one I was going to introduce; she's the soccer team captain and you'd never guess she's a woman. SHE'S SO COOL, ISN'T SHE?"
Even though I wasn't sure whether my suspicions were right, I was silent in disbelief.
"W-what's her name?" "Everybody call her Canglor." She replied smiling. Although the thorn looked to have lost my senses, I couldn't help but wonder if I was hearing things right.
I'm clarifying, "Canglor? Are you sure?"
"Yes, she is Baki Canglor, the team captain, who is admired by everyone, whether a woman or a man."
Baki Canglor is the team captain and someone that everyone admires.
I don't know what to feel and to say from those words came from Aly. Why am I so affected by what is happening? Why do I feel like I really have nothing against that woman? And why do I feel this way about her?I'm not in a position to feel this way because I'm only holding on to Jas' friendships, not as a lover.
"Are you okay?" Aly asked of me.
I nodded and forced a smile at her.
Baki is a soccer player, which is why her schedule was night class because she normally has practice in the morning, according to Jas.
"Yes, thank you, Aly; I'm fine; thank you for the information; but I'll be back in our room; I still have something to finish."
I got out of the chair and was about to walk away when Aly grabbed my wrist.
"I'll come along with you."
I gave a nod. "All right, whatever you want."
