Chapter 139: Creepy encounter
Jennifer woke up with a throbbing headache, her temples pounding like a drumbeat.
She groggily opened her eyes, squinting against the bright sunlight streaming through her window.
She tried to sit up, but the movement made her head spin, and she fell back onto her pillow with a groan.
What had caused this headache?
She had eaten well the day before, avoiding any triggers that might have set off a migraine.
She had gone to bed at a reasonable hour and hadn't had any alcohol or caffeine in the evening. It didn't make sense.
After a few minutes of lying in bed,
Jennifer finally managed to sit up without the room spinning.
She rubbed her temples, trying to massage away the pain.
She got out of bed and stumbled to the bathroom, where she swallowed a couple of painkillers and splashed some water on her face.
