“Please! Both of you. Stop fighting. Can we have one peaceful day after everything we have been through?” Oliver asked, staring wistfully from me towards his dad.
Both of us quieted down. A silent understanding passed between us.
“I apologise, Ollie. I didn't mean to upset you. We won't fight,” I tried to reassure him as he climbed onto my lap and laid his head on my chest hugging me.
“I will eat with you more from now on and will take you out too once we have captured whatever enemy is after us,” Asher spoke from the front as he singlehandedly manoeuvred the car and took a sharp left turn.
“Really? Dad,” Oliver excitedly clapped and Asher grunted in approval.
The boorish alpha had a soft spot for his son, I just needed to enlarge it and ensure he understood how much his presence meant to his child.
“Can I tell a joke?” Oliver expectantly asked.
