Chapter 26 : Building a case
MAXINE.
Days pass. Two, to be exact. The mission is on hold and everything seems to be frozen in place because of that, but the Unclaimed Camp seems to be changing for the better.
After Jonathan is appointed, noticeable changes start to appear. For one, we have three meals a day now. There are employees cleaning the latrines and doing all the maintenance work now. But even though Ajax promised that every change would be approved by everyone, Jonathan does nothing to confirm if this was indeed what everyone asked for.
The only problem is, no one else is complaining.
I’m not either, not entirely. But closing access to maintenance means we no longer have access to the open tunnel that Theo created.
Speaking of Theo, he’s always in a sour mood now. He barely talks, rarely interacts, and when he does, it’s usually to add something snarky. Especially when it comes to Ajax, who seems to be staying in the camp now for some reason.
