Chapter 25 : Plan B

MAXINE. “This is going to be quick,” Jonathan tells me excitedly as we all gather in front of the Overseer's office to wait for the announcement. “I’m so excited for Theo.” Theo shakes his head, but the smile on his face tells me that the concept is making him excited too. “We still don’t know if it’s me, so let’s all chill.” I smirk. “Don’t try to be humble. We all know that it’s you.” And I really think that it’s him. Everyone I know in the camp voted for him. Even Jonathan voted for him. Jonathan might have volunteered to apply as the Overseer, but he believes that it should be Theo. He might be a little reckless at times, but his morals are in the right place and I don’t think any pressure from any higher power would ever erode that.
