Cordelia nodded, her soft face sincere. "Joseph said it's his mother's heirloom, and I accidentally damaged it, so I took it to be repaired."
Benedict listened to her, his face instantly darkening. His jaw tightened, and a powerful aura surrounded him.
He handed the car keys to Cordelia. "Drive the car to the entrance and wait for me."
Though she hadn't been with him for long, Cordelia knew this man emitted a strong and oppressive aura when angered.
She didn't want to get involved, so she obediently took the keys and slipped away faster than a rabbit.
As she left, the harmonious atmosphere in the living room turned instantly icy and dangerous.
