CHAPTER 23: THE BREAKING POINT

EMILIA’S POV “Linda! Something is wrong, she is burning up,” I heard Knight scream. I have been going in between consciousness and unconsciousness for the past hour. “We need to help her cool down,” Knight sounds panicked. “We can’t,” Linda replied, sounding helpless. “She needs Cameron. He’s the only one who can handle this. she needs her mate” And suddenly, it hits me. I don’t know how, but I know. I know I need him. I need Cameron’s touch. His presence. His scent. I need him to pull me out of this, to make it stop. Without him, I feel like I’m slipping, like I’m drowning in the heat.
