Chapter 102: The Awakening Darkness
Emilia’s POV
As we came to a vast chamber, the corridor grew wider, and I could now make out the altar at the other end of the room, covered in years' worth of cobwebs and dust. There were additional inscriptions all around it, some dimly visible under the dirt, some still shining in the torchlight. The answers we were looking for were concealed here, in this forgotten location.
Ivana extended her hand and touched one of the symbols with her fingertips. These markings are a reference to Malakar. The thing that was sealed in this place.
My breath caught in my throat as I took a step closer. I had previously heard rumors about Malakar—tales whispered by the elders, warnings of a force so old and strong that it had been imprisoned beneath the soil to prevent it from destroying all. It was different, though, to hear the name in person and feel its weight. It was authentic. It was also risky.
"What is it saying?" My question was hardly audible above a whisper.
