Chapter 15 Fool
Sabrina felt a hint of suspicion in her heart.
But unfortunately, she knew nothing about her past memories and didn't want to recall them.
Early the next day, Sabrina arrived at the studio.
Presently, aside from the receptionist and the cleaner, the studio only housed her.
Last night, she received a referral from an old client, who wanted to meet her.
Sabrina chose the studio as the meeting place.
Sitting in the lounge, Sabrina's mind wandered back to the photo from last night.
Could it be that Travis was truly the biological father of the five treasures?
This man held power and influence.
If he were to come to claim custody of the five treasures, Sabrina would certainly not stand a chance against him.
No, she absolutely cannot let Travis steal her kids away!
Sabrina stared at the face of Travis in the photo, as if he were the bread being chewed in her mouth.
She was determined to chew this man into dust!
"Excuse me, is this the detective agency?"
A voice inquired from outside.
Sabrina put away her phone.
The person had already been led by the receptionist and knocked on the door of the lounge.
"Please come in," Sabrina hastily stuffed the last bite and choked.
Sabrina covered her lips while coughing, her cheeks and eyes reddened.
"Here," a deep and pleasant voice sounded beside her.
Sabrina felt a cold hand, as the person handed her the water.
"Thanks."
Sabrina expressed her gratitude, gulping down two big sips.
Upon seeing the visitor clearly, her eyes widened instantly.
How could it be him!
"Travis?!"
Travis's eyes flashed with surprise.
Upon entering, he found the figure somewhat familiar.
Little did he expect that the woman who had intentionally approached him several times was the renowned owner of the detective agency.
"Am I not welcome?"
Travis pursed his lips, his face revealing no extra expression.
"Of course, you are welcome."
Sabrina was feeling a bit nervous.
"What can I help you today?"
Regardless of whether Travis was the scoundrel from the past, she had already secured this deal and would not let it slip away for nothing.
If he truly was the scoundrel from the past, she would extort him even more to satisfy her anger!
"Do you have kids?"
Travis looked into Sabrina's eyes and inquired.
"No."
Sabrina's face remained calm as she denied promptly.
"Travis, my personal affairs are not within the scope of business."
"If you don't respect that, forgive me for asking you to leave."
Sabrina's face turned cold.
The thought of Travis possibly being the scoundrel from the past, who might also compete for the custody of the five treasures, made Sabrina lose any trace of goodwill towards him.
Travis observed Sabrina's face, which did not appear to be lying.
Yet he grew more suspicious.
There were too many doubts surrounding this woman.
"I need you to investigate a person for me."
"Who?" Sabrina raised an eyebrow.
Even someone as grand as Travis couldn't uncover everything?
Travis fixed his gaze on Sabrina and slowly uttered a name, "Sabrina Navarro."
"As far as I know, that woman passed away several years ago."
Sabrina was surprised internally but maintained a calm exterior.
"Why would you want to investigate a deceased person?"
Both of them probed each other, their gazes fixed on each other, trying not to miss any subtle expressions.
Travis said, "She is my woman."
A storm surged in Sabrina's heart, but she forced a smile on her face, jesting.
"I never thought the famously aloof Travis would have such romantic debts."
Travis withdrawed his gaze from her, but his suspicions remained.
"This is her picture. You should find it very familiar."
Travis took out the photo he received from Mark and placed it in front of Sabrina.
Clutching the photo on the table, Sabrina feigned surprise.
"There have been rumors about me resembling Sabrina Navarro. I didn't believe it before, but it seems to be true."
"You even shame the same surname, what a fate."
Travis's profound gaze lingered on Sabrina, seeing her flawless reaction without a hint of flaw.
The more flawless one appeared, the more likely one was to be deceitful.
"Unfortunately, Sabrina is dead. Otherwise, I could have a chat with her."
Sabrina sighed, looking regretful.
She deliberately said, "Just a few days ago, someone mistook me for Sabrina Navarro and even held my hand."
"Why are you looking at me like that, Travis? You don't think I'm Sabrina Navarro, do you?" Sabrina exaggeratedly covered her mouth, staring at Travis in disbelief.
Her reaction successfully thwarted Travis's probing.
"Of course not, Tiana."
Travis took out a check and swiftly wrote a series of elegant numbers.
"Deposit."
Upon receiving the check, Sabrina's eyes sparkled with enthusiasm.
Five million.
What a wealthy gentleman who spared no expense.
Before she could think of how to extort him, he had already made the first move.
"After the task is completed, I will pay you three times the remaining amount."
Travis stood up, looking at Sabrina with an inscrutable expression in his deep eyes.
"Tiana, do not disappoint me."
"Travis, You can trust me."
Sabrina patted her chest, assuring Travis.
Watching Travis leave, Sabrina's heart bloomed with joy.
Earning 20 million was simply too easy.
Who else knew her better than herself?
Just a few words spoken, and she had secured 20 million.
She would no longer curse Travis as a scoundrel.
Travis is naive and wealthy. And he is so kind!
Sabrina put away the check.
As her phone rang in her bag, she glanced at it with a cold smile.
Another fool had arrived with money.
"Georgia, what's the matter?"
"Tiana, no matter what means you use, within two days, you must immediately investigate that woman for me!"
Georgia's angry voice came through, tinged with a hint of threat.
Sabrina chuckled lightly, "No need for two days, I have already investigated thoroughly."
"Let's meet, you decide on the location."
Georgia was somewhat surprised.
She couldn't hide the hint of pleasure in her tone, "Sure."
