Chapter 1
It was a summer night, and the mountains were hot and humid.
In the dim light, two figures can barely be seen.
The man pressed on Anna Qin's back, almost crushing her.
Anna raised her hand and pushed him, attempting to twist her body to get up. She could feel the heat wave coming from the plane explosion.
The man was motionless. She couldn’t get him off her.
Suddenly, she felt something tighten from behind her. Taken aback for a moment, soon she felt a strange sensation.
The man behind her exuded a lot of body heat.
"Don't move!" The man's voice sounded from the back of her head.
As a medical student, Anna naturally understood what it meant, and she knew that this was a bad situation for her.
She had gone into the mountain to collect medicinal plants when she encountered a helicopter crash. The wreckage was billowing with smoke. She had only one thought: she had to help anyone who needed it.
Did she risk her life just to save this wolf?
In a shaky voice, she threatened him. "Hey, I just saved your life. I'll call the police if you harm me!"
The man didn’t speak for a long time, but his arms tightened around her.
Anna knew something was wrong.
How can a person just do this after a brush with death?
She understood that he might not be himself. But whether he had been drugged, or traumatized, she cannot be his victim!
She had kept her virginity intact for 20 years, saving it for when she married her boyfriend.
Behind her, she couldn’t see it but the man's eyes were red and very dilated.
"Let go of me--" she shouted hoarsely.
"Help me, I'll repay you!" He said, just before seemingly losing his mind and ravaging her as though consuming his prey.
She fought desperately. Though injured, he was still strong enough to overpower her.
Looking at the brilliant starry sky above her head, she could no longer hold back her tears.
"Hans, I'm sorry..."
The satisfied man leaned over with difficulty, kissed her tears from the corner of her eye, and sighed, "I'm sorry."
Anna was in so much pain then that she didn't even have the strength to move.
She shouldn’t have saved this wicked man!
"I'll be responsible for you...put this on, and you'll be my wife from now on."
Anna felt something cold on her neck.
He had put something around her neck. He then reached up and placed his palm on her cheek. It almost felt like he was being affectionate.
She angrily slapped his hand away, "Don't touch me—"
He let out a muffled groan as he fell to the side. Then, he stopped moving.
Anna was startled.
She hurriedly sat up, looked at the man, and found that there was a gaping wound on his right thigh. It ran from his thigh to his leg. There was also a hematoma on his lower leg, which looked like a bruise but was much bigger and darker. It meant there were ruptured some blood vessels due to the impact, and possibly fractures. It could be life-threatening if left untreated.
It turned out that he was more seriously injured than she’d initially thought.
Anna stared angrily at the unconscious man.
Even if he had been injured so badly, and even if he wasn’t in the right frame of mind, she still hated that he’d raped her. She’d heard of men who had become sex offenders after a traumatic brain injury, but this didn’t make sense. It was too soon after the injury.
Was he high? Maybe he’d taken drugs before the crash. In that case, this man was definitely not a good person, there was no reason for her to pity him.
She turned her head away. He had just raped her. This man didn't deserve her kindness. Plus, she was in a great deal of pain from what he’d just done to her.
After walking a few steps, she clenched her fist and stopped. She turned her head and looked at the injured man.
She couldn’t just leave.
As a medicine student, she’d been taught that doctors have a sworn duty to treat and save others. As long as she’s able to, and as long as her own life wasn't at risk, she had to do her best to help. It was naive and idealistic, but she truly felt that it was her obligation to help.
Anna sighed. Maybe...he’s really a good person? She can’t just judge him for his actions without knowing what exactly had caused it. Also, two wrongs don’t make a right. Even if he had wronged her, she cannot make it right by choosing not to save him.
Convincing herself that it was the right thing to do, she went back to the river and took the medicine box she had left there, which contained gauze, suture needles, and disinfectant.
As she examined the injury on the man's thigh, Anna's eyes fell on his erect genitalia. Saving him didn't mean that she forgave him for harming her. She quickly cleaned and sutured his wound, then wrapped it in gauze. Then she dealt with his hematoma by draining out the blood, and finally made a splint to protect the leg until he could be rescued.
Anna then took out a set of tools from the bottom of the medical box.
It was the set of silver needles her grandma had given her.
Anna skillfully took out some needles, squinted her eyes and began to sterilize it using a small flame.
There was a cold glint in her eye.
She began place the needles decisively, and with dead accuracy. Moving like a dragonfly, she accurately pierced a point on the man's pubic bone.
