Chapter 61
Kai’s POV
I need new friends.
That’s my only thought as Christian brings his truck to a stop and levels me with the nastiest glare I’ve encountered as he jumps out of the driver’s side.
“Am I your bitch or something?” he asks, his blue eyes cutting through my soul as he moves to the back and lowers the tailgate.
I push my motorcycle forward and he helps me load it to the back of the truck. “Good afternoon to you too, Chris. Beautiful day, isn’t it?”
“What’s wrong with this thing? It looks new.”
“I had a little accident yesterday, but it started just fine so I thought it was okay. Turns out it’s not.” When I got it from the garage, I didn’t really bother to check whether anything was broken. I was in a hurry to leave home.
“Accident?” he asks as he puts the tailgate back up.
“Yep,” I say noncommittally. No need to let him know I rode half-drunk and almost crashed into my mother’s car because my mind is a mess because of her.
He walks back to the driver’s side and I get into the passenge
